Apply for a Faculty Exhibition Grant

Proposal Deadline: May 11, 2025, 11:59 pm

Target Notification: May 18, 2025

Exhibition Dates: January - February 20, 2026

Location: Campus Gallery or Deborah and Kenneth Novack Gallery

General Information

New opportunity! The goal of the Faculty Exhibition Grant is to support faculty in the planning and presentation of a group exhibition at one of CCA’s teaching galleries. Thematic exhibitions, partnerships with other academic institutions, arts organizations, or nonprofit organizations, community-based projects, and collaborations are all welcome. Faculty may include their own work in their exhibition, but this grant opportunity is not intended to support a solo presentation. There is no requirement for artists in the exhibition to be CCA faculty, students, or alumni, but they can be if that works within your exhibition idea. Exhibitions must open to the public at the start of spring ‘26 on January 21, 2026, and can remain up for 4-5 weeks.

We encourage proposals to describe student or community engagement activities that would take place in addition to an opening reception. Additional programming opportunities are possible within the gallery during regular gallery hours. All faculty actively teaching in the 2025-2026 academic year are eligible to apply.

Faculty would receive the following from the CCA Exhibitions and Public Programming team: a one-time stipend payment, mentorship and guidance related to exhibition planning, two days of preparator support for installation and one day of support for deinstallation, access to our tools and media inventory, purchasing support, staffing during regular gallery hours and designated reception time, reception refreshments, and exhibition promotion via social media, calendar listings, and cca.edu.

Total Award: $5,000*

  • $1625 = Faculty stipend
  • $2800 = Exhibition installation, speaker fees, materials, and/or shipping
  • $575 = Printing, poster, exhibition signage, and promotion

* A one-time faculty payment will be made for $1625. Budget details for the remaining $3375 of production funds to be finalized in collaboration with CCA Exhibitions. We recognize that every project is unique and will work with you to support your vision within guidelines set by CCA’s Business Office.

Selection Criteria

  • Coherence of proposal idea
  • Feasibility of planning and installing exhibition concept
  • Faculty development: Will this opportunity help the faculty member advance their career or try something new?
  • Engagement with the CCA community: How can students or the local community learn or participate?
